Scoring Summary

3rd inning

Victor Scott II led off with a single and was brought home by Lars Nootbaar’s two-run homer to right field, putting the Cardinals up 2-0.

4th inning

The Braves answered in the fourth when Sean Murphy homered for the second straight game to cut the lead in half. Jarred Kelenic and Alex Verdugo followed with back-to-back doubles to tie the game and a wild pitch from Pallante allowed Verdugo to take third. Austin Riley then drove him in with a single, giving Atlanta a 3-2 lead.

5th inning

Matt Olson extended the Braves' lead with a solo home run to left-center, making it 4-2. After Pallante exited, Steven Matz took over and retired the next two batters to stop the damage.

6th inning

Comeback on. Alec Burleson singled, and both Jordan Walker and Scott II drew walks to load the bases. Masyn Winn delivered an RBI single to left, scoring Burleson and Walker came home on a wild pitch from Braves reliever Dylan Lee to tie the game at 4-4.

8th inning

Scott II doubled and advanced to third on a wild pitch. Nootbaar was intentionally walked and later stole second, setting up Willson Contreras, who battled through a nine-pitch walk to load the bases. That brought up Gorman, who had been hitless on the night. He came through with a clutch two-out double to right field, clearing the bases and putting St. Louis up 7-4.

9th inning

No mercy. Burleson and Pedro Pagés singled, and Scott II smacked his second double of the night to bring in another run. Winn added a sacrifice fly to score Pagés, and Nootbaar singled in Scott II to cap the scoring. Ryan Helsley worked a clean ninth inning to secure the win.
