The St. Louis Blues dropped Game 5 of their first-round Stanley Cup Playoffs series, falling 5-3 to the Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday night. Winnipeg looked like the more determined team from the opening puck drop, while the Blues lacked energy and production from their key contributors.

Game Notes

Cam Fowler recorded an assist, pushing his point streak to five games (1 G, 8 A).
Winnipeg outshot St. Louis 26-19. It marked the second time this series the Blues were held under 20 shots.
“They were better than us ... we’ve got to be more connected,” said Blues head coach Jim Montgomery postgame. “I didn’t think our puck support was good enough. I didn’t think we got back quick enough. I didn’t think we won our forecheck; we didn’t establish it. It’s every facet ... but we’re onto the next one.”
Betting Recap
The Jets ML (-185) hit, and the game went OVER 5.5 total goals (+120). Eric Sontag’s pick against Hellebuyck narrowly cashed with Walker’s late goal. Hellebuyck has now given up at least 3 goals in 13 of his last 14 playoff games.
What's Next
The series shifts back to St. Louis for Game 6 on Friday at 7:00 p.m. CT. The Blues face elimination but carry a hopeful 14-game home winning streak that dates back to February 23.
