The Missouri Tigers look to avoid a three-game losing streak tonight when they host the Alabama State Hornets.
These two teams met last season in Columbia, with Missouri coming away with an 82-65 victory.
Tigers Struggling
Mizzou is coming off a frustrating last two games, blowing a second half lead in a 76-71 loss at Notre Dame and getting beaten handily 80-60 against Kansas.
But now the Tigers return home to play a low-major school where they should be able to have their way with this team. Mizzou has a ton of length, while Alabama State ranks 286th out of 365 Division One schools in average height.
Hornets Not Much Of A Threat
Alabama State has not been competitive against big-time competition. In two games against Power 4 schools, the Hornets got swatted 101-64 by Florida State and 94-66 by Colorado.
Alabama State shouldn’t pose much of a threat to Missouri, as the Hornets start the day ranked 272nd in KenPom and 237th in the NET.
My Lean
I definitely have my doubts about how good Missouri is from a big picture perspective, but I think the Tigers are going to dominate in the paint tonight and cover the number. They’re going to want to feel good about themselves after two straight losses, and I think they’ll take out their frustration on the overmatched Hornets.
This is just a lean for me and not a bet, as I hate getting the worst of the number. The line opened at 22.5 yesterday and has been pushed up to 26.5. But if you’re adamant you want to bet this one, I do think the most likely outcome is Mizzou pushing Alabama State around and winning by 30+.
