Cards, Braves Finish Series

The St. Louis Cardinals and Atlanta Braves play the rubber game of their three-game series in a Wednesday matinee at Truist Park.

The Redbirds snapped a five-game losing streak with a 10-4 win over Atlanta last night, marking just their second road victory in twelve attempts this season.

Mikolas On The Mound

The Cards are 0-4 in Miles Mikolas starts this season, and the veteran right-hander will be on the mound in the series finale.

Mikolas has had plenty of problems with these Atlanta hitters in the past. Current batters on the Braves roster are hitting a combined .319 in 119 career at-bats against Mikolas with 9 home runs, a .344 on-base percentage, and a .983 OPS.

Braves Turn To Elder

The Braves give the ball to Bryce Elder, who has yet to pitch well in any of his three starts this season.

Elder’s outings in 2025:

April 2nd - 4 IP, 3 ER at LA Dodgers

April 11th - 6 IP, 5 ER at Tampa Bay

April 18th - 5 IP, 4 ER vs Minnesota

My Pick

This is a weekday afternoon getaway day game for both teams, which is usually an automatic first five under bet for me. The first five under is 3-0 in this spot in Cardinals games this season, but I just can’t get there with Mikolas and Elder being the starters today.

Instead, I’ll turn to the player prop market. Willson Contreras has picked things up at the plate recently, as he’s 7-for-14 with 3 walks and a homer in his last 17 plate appearances. I like him to get at least one hit in this game.

I’ll combine that with Mikolas to walk at least one batter, which he has done in all four starts this season.

Pick: Same Game Parlay priced at -110 on DraftKings - Willson Contreras to record 1+ hits AND Miles Mikolas to allow 1+ walks (bet to -120)
