Massive Game For Blues

The St. Louis Blues can take a huge step forward toward the playoffs if they can beat the Kraken tonight in Seattle.

There are three teams battling for two playoff spots, and the Blues and Wild are tied for the final two spots at 93 points with two games remaining. The Flames are three points back with 90 points, but they have three games remaining.

Blues Hope To Avoid Losing Streak

After winning 12 straight games, the Blues have now dropped two in a row with a 3-1 loss at Winnipeg and a 4-3 defeat at Edmonton.

I don’t get the sense the Blues have fallen into a slump or have run out of gas; rather, I think it’s just variance evening itself out after a 12-game stretch where everything went the Blues’ way. They had a chance to tie the game late at Winnipeg on the road against the best team in the NHL. And both teams played well in Edmonton on Wednesday, but Connor McDavid was the difference with three assists, including a setup of the game-winning goal with 21 seconds remaining in regulation.

Kraken Playing Out The String

The Kraken come into this game having been eliminated from postseason contention for a while now. They have lost each of their last two games, including a 7-1 blowout at Utah this past Tuesday.

The Blues have dominated Seattle since the expansion franchise joined the league in 2021 with a record of 9-2-0, including a current five-game winning streak in the series.

My Pick

The Blues currently control their own destiny to make the playoffs, but if they lose this game in regulation, that luxury goes away and Blues fans will be getting awfully nervous.

But I don’t think we are going to have to worry about that.

I have a lot of confidence that the Blues are going to come out strong and get the win tonight. Like I mentioned above, I don’t think the two recent losses are indicative of a slump. The Blues are the better team, and if they play tonight like they did in Edmonton on Wednesday, I think they will get rewarded with a win unless Connor McDavid suddenly steps foot on the ice wearing a Kraken sweater.

The moneyline price is a little high for my liking, so I’m going to combine the Blues to win with the ol’ reliable Same Game Parlay piece of Jordan Kyrou recording at least two shots on goal. Overall for the season if you bet Kyrou to get two shots on goal, you’d be 62-18 (77.5%).

Pick: Same Game Parlay priced at +100 on DraftKings - Blues on the moneyline and Jordan Kyrou to record at least two shots on goal (bet up to -110)
