DraftKings Odds

Total: 5.5 (over -120, under +100)

Blues Chase History

The St. Louis Blues will attempt to tie their longest winning streak in franchise history when they host the Pittsburgh Penguins tonight at Enterprise Center.

The Blues won their tenth straight in dramatic fashion with a 2-1 overtime victory over the Red Wings on Tuesday.

Blues Impress Defensively

The St. Louis defense continues to be the backbone of the team over this winning streak. The Blues have allowed only 14 total goals over the last 10 games, and they’ve given up just one goal in seven of those games.

Overall, the Blues are now 17-2-2 over their last 21 games and have seen their odds to make the playoffs skyrocket to -1100 on DraftKings. At this point, I’m more concerned about the Blues taking their foot off the gas too early after clinching rather than being worried about them making the playoffs.

Penguins Hope To Beat Blues Again

The Penguins were the last team to beat the Blues in a 5-3 Pittsburgh win back on March 13th. The Blues had the better of the play in most of that game however with a 35-22 shot advantage.

With the St. Louis defense dominating of late, the Penguins may struggle to hold the Blues in check in this one. Pittsburgh gives up an average of 3.57 goals per game, which is third-worst in the NHL.

My Pick

The Blues have won ten in a row, and so have I with plays given out in these Blues articles (nine picks and one lean). So I’m going back to the well one more time with the same play as Tuesday against the Red Wings.

It’s a Same Game Parlay on DraftKings combining the Blues to win with Jordan Kyrou recording at least two shots on goal. Kyrou had six shots on goal against Detroit and has recorded two or more shots on goal in 8 straight games and in 13 of his last 14. Overall for the season if you bet Kyrou to get two shots on goal, you’d be 59-17 (77.6%).

It’s a little more juice than I prefer, but I’m not going to mess with what’s working. And it’s a good reminder for beginning gamblers - it’s usually not a good idea to lay super high odds like -225. If you can find a way like this to bring the price down, it’s a much more optimal strategy to win long-term.

Pick: Same Game Parlay priced at -135 on DraftKings - Blues on the moneyline and Jordan Kyrou to record at least two shots on goal (bet up to -140)
