Blues Head Back To Nashville

The St. Louis Blues meet the Nashville Predators for the third time in ten days when the two clubs square off on Thursday night in Tennessee.

Not only are the Blues now listed at minus odds to make the playoffs on DraftKings, they are now just two points behind Minnesota for the first Wild Card spot, although the Wild have played one fewer game.

Below are the updated odds to make the playoffs for the main contenders for the two Wild Card spots in the Western Conference:

Wild -1000

Blues -120

Flames +180

Canucks +340

Blues Hottest Team In NHL

The Blues have won seven in a row and are now 14-2-2 over their last 18 games after destroying Montreal 6-1 on Tuesday. They have scored at least four goals in all seven games of this winning streak, and they’ve allowed only ten goals during that stretch (1.42 goals against per game).

The Blues have dominated the Predators this season with a pair of 4-1 victories this month to go along with a 7-4 win back in December.

Predators Struggle To Score

It’s difficult to see the Predators scoring a lot in this game considering their season-long statistics and the Blues’ recent form. Nashville ranks dead last in the NHL with just 2.55 goals scored per game.

Overall, the Predators have the third-worst record in the NHL with only 62 points.

My Pick

I said the same thing last week when the Blues played at Nashville… I don’t understand this price.

The Blues were -110 on the moneyline less than a couple weeks ago on the road at Minnesota, who is a playoff team.

Then a few days later in their next road game at Nashville against one of the league’s worst teams, the Blues were priced nearly the same at -118 - and they coasted to an easy victory.

Now the Blues play at Nashville again with their value having only increased since then, and we are getting essentially the same price.

No need to get cute here. I fully expect eight to be great for the sizzling hot Blues.

Pick: Blues -120 on the moneyline at DraftKings (take up to -130)
