Blues Play Back-To-Back

The St. Louis Blues return home to take on the Anaheim Ducks tonight after a 5-1 drubbing of the Wild last night in Minnesota.

The win now makes the Blues 8-2-2 over their last 12 games, as they continue to make good progress in the race for a playoff spot. There is still plenty of work to do, but their odds to make the playoffs are now as good as they’ve been in quite a long time at +340 on DraftKings.

Blues Still Hot

The Blues’ hot streak has coincided with a fantastic offensive stretch where they are averaging 3.91 goals over their last 12 games. That would rank 1st in the NHL over the course of a full season.

The Blues have also dominated Anaheim in recent years. They have won nine straight games against the Ducks, averaging 4.7 goals per game in that stretch. It’s the fifth-longest active win streak for any NHL team against one opponent.

Ducks Not Strong Offensively

The Ducks come to St. Louis off the back of a 2-1 win against the Predators on Friday night. Even with the victory, it was another example of Anaheim’s lackluster offense.

The Ducks average just 2.64 goals per game this season, which ranks fourth-worst in the NHL. They also convert just 13.1% of their power play opportunities, ranking 31st in the league.

My Pick

This is a game the Blues should win - but obviously, that’s reflected in the price.

It’s also a tough spot with this being the second game of a back-to-back and the Blues experiencing travel complications last night that pushed back the start time for this game by two hours.

So instead of taking a side or a total, I’ve found a prop I really like on DraftKings that I’ll be betting for this one.

The Blues will be celebrating Brayden Schenn’s 1,000 NHL games milestone this evening, and I think the captain is primed to have a big game.

Schenn is in a good run of form with 10 points in his last 10 games and 13 points in his last 14 games overall. And against the Ducks in his career, he has excelled with 33 points in 35 games.

Schenn has dominated the Ducks in particular of late with 6 goals and 9 assists in his last nine games against them.

We are getting even money +100 for Schenn to get a point tonight, so that’s definitely worth a bet for me.

Pick: Brayden Schenn to record a point at +100 on DraftKings
