St. Louis CITY SC will be in California for the second straight game when they take on the defending champion LA Galaxy on Sunday night.
CITY scraped out a 0-0 draw in their last game at San Diego FC, marking their second straight scoreless draw to open the season.

Not only have both CITY games seen no goals, but they haven’t seen many high-level scoring chances either.
The company Sofascore has a great website and app for tracking soccer statistics. Sofascore has a statistic called “big chances”, and I like that stat because shots don’t tell the full story of how close a team is to scoring.
In the first two games combined, CITY has generated just two big chances offensively and only conceded two big chances defensively.
Galaxy Not Creating Much Either
The Galaxy aren’t creating much offense so far this season either. They are off to an 0-2 start with a 2-0 loss to San Diego FC and a 2-1 defeat at Vancouver.
Besides having scored just one goal in their first two games, LA has also only created a total of two big chances so far this season.
My Pick
So let me get this straight. We have two teams playing each other on Sunday that have played a combined four games, and between them, they have scored one goal and created a grand total of four big chances.
And the total for this game is 3?! The only way I lose this under is if four goals are scored. Sign me up for that all day, and if I lose, I can live with it.
I typically write these articles the night before or day of a game, but I wanted to get this out now because this number is on the move. I bet the under 3 earlier this week at +120, and it’s now up to -105. I would expect it to keep moving higher where eventually the under 3 is listed at higher odds than the over 3. So if you’re on board with my logic, I’d get on this sooner than later.
