Surging Mizzou Heads To Fayetteville
The scorching hot Missouri Tigers look for their fourth straight win when they head to Arkansas to take on the Razorbacks on Saturday night.
The Tigers opened up the eyes of the college basketball world this past Wednesday when they flew past the century mark in a 110-98 win over #4 Alabama for their third victory over a Top 5 team this season.
The win saw Mizzou’s Final Four odds soar up to +550 on FanDuel. Only seven teams have better odds to make the Final Four.
Tigers Are Fast Starters
The Tigers are absolutely blitzing their opponents in the first half this season. Mizzou has been up by double digits at the half in road games against ranked teams in Memphis, Florida, and Mississippi State.
They’ve also held halftime leads of at least 13 points in home games against Kansas, LSU, Oklahoma, Alabama, and this Arkansas team. The Tigers cruised to an 83-65 win over the Razorbacks in the previous meeting in Columbia.
Arkansas Not Sharp Early
Arkansas has been playing better lately after a 1-6 start in SEC play. The Razorbacks are 3-3 straight up and 6-0 against the spread over their last six games, including road wins at Kentucky and Texas and close losses to elite teams in Alabama, Texas A&M, and Auburn.
However, Arkansas has been typically slow out of the gate to start games. In their 17 games against power conference opponents this season, the Razorbacks have led at the half only three times.
My Pick
If you’re a Missouri fan, you may be having letdown concerns after the A+ performance against Alabama. But when elite teams go on the road, you typically see them take care of business - and I think Mizzou has developed into an elite team that belongs in the top tier of the SEC.
Arkansas has been a cover machine lately, so I’m going to eliminate the second half from the equation and focus on the first half. The Tigers are locked in right now, and here’s to thinking they come out hot and the Razorbacks’ first half woes continue.
Pick: Missouri -1 in the first half at Caesars
