Team Canada goalie Jordan Binnington (50) stops Team United States forward Auston Matthews (34) in the first period during a 4 Nations Face-Off ice hockey game at the Bell Centre.

While Blues fans may have their thoughts on Jordan Binnington this season, the goalie’s performance in the Four Nations tournament, including the 3-2 overtime winner in the finals, has been heralded as a return to form and a heroic effort for Team Canada. Voices from around the hockey and general sports worlds have supported the former third-rounder as he navigated the perilous international contest and came out the clear winner.

Binnington saved 31 of 33 shots in the final, including the miraculous stretching save that kept Team Canada alive in overtime. Throughout the Four Nations tournament, Jordan Binnington had a .907 save percentage and averaged 2.37 goals against.

While many Canadians were calling for Golden Knights tender Adin Hill or Canadiens netminder Samuel Montembeault to replace Binner due to his inconsistent performance, Jon Cooper ultimately kept the Blues’ man in the net and was rewarded for his faith. Cooper was seen hyping up his goaltender following the win:

With a playoff push looming, Blues fans are hopeful this performance can spark a run for their team and lead to a deep playoff run — but he won't have Connor McDavid, Cale Makar, and Nathan Mackinnon at home.
