St. Louis Blues teammates Jordan Binnington and Colton Parayko played key roles in Team Canada’s championship run at the Four Nations Tournament, securing the title with a thrilling 3-2 overtime victory over Team USA.
Binnington was the difference-maker in the final, stopping 31 of 33 shots, including eight shots in the third period and six critical saves in overtime to keep Canada alive. He entered the game with a 2.60 goals-against average (GAA) and a .892 save percentage (SV%), delivering his best performance when it mattered most.

After allowing two high-danger goals in the first two periods, Binnington locked in during the third and overtime periods, standing tall on point-blank shots, including one by Toronto Maple Leafs forward Auston Matthews, before Edmonton Oilers Connor McDavid secured Canada's game-winning goal at 8:18 into the five-on-five overtime.
Parayko, meanwhile, continued to embrace an expanded role in the tournament, with former Blue Alex Pietrangelo absent throughout. Usually paired with Winnipeg Jets defenseman Josh Morrissey on the Canadian's second-pairing unit and the first penalty-killing unit, he was paired with Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Travis Sanheim as Morrissey was absent for the championship game due to illness.
He entered the final, averaging 19:39 of ice time per game, but finished just under 18 minutes in the championship. He blocked two shots and recorded one shot on goal while being relied upon in key defensive situations, particularly in the closing moments of regulation.
With the tournament victory, Binnington and Parayko showcased their ability to shine on the international stage.
Now, they return to St. Louis looking to carry that momentum into the Blues’ push for the postseason. The Blues will resume regular season action Saturday against the Winnipeg Jets at 6pm CST.
